Gabrielle Leith is a freelance television researcher, script reader, writer and film festival programmer.
Starting her career in television production only two years ago, Gabrielle has gone from being a Production Assistant to a Senior Researcher on major network shows. She has experience working as a set coordinator and assistant director on various factual programs for American networks like HGTV’s hit series “Cash and Cari”.
Most recently she has begun to work for various film festivals around the UK helping to coordinate and head up their programming. She is currently the Festival Co-ordinator of the Newport International Film Festival.
With a passion for writing, she works as a freelance script reader to give production companies invaluable insight into a script’s relevancy to contemporary audiences. She also uses script reading as a chance to improve and foster her own script writing.
Gabrielle’s love of writing comedy started at age 14 when she began performing comedy with her sketch troupe “The Young and The Useless”. The group was featured across Canada on television and radio, and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Sketch Troupe in 2001.
Gabrielle is currently writing several half hour and hour-long comedy pilots with her writing partners: 3D Producer Jacquie Pepall and Comedian Mae Martin.
